Overview
The Technical Pre-Sales Officer plays a strategic hybrid role bridging technical solution design and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Discovery & Client Engagement
Lead technical discovery sessions with industrial clients
Diagnose operational, production, waste management, mechanization, or process optimization challenges
Translate business needs into R&D workstreams
Conduct on-site technical visits when needed
Prepare technical briefing documents after each engagement
Solution Architecture & Scope Design
Structure R&D roadmaps (Phase 0 – Pilot – Scale)
Develop technical concept notes for: Industrial process optimization - Mechanization development - Waste-to-value systems - Applied product validation - Technology localization
Define KPIs, milestones, deliverables, and feasibility checkpoints
Support technical costing (CAPEX/OPEX estimation with engineers)
Proposal Development & Commercial Alignment
Draft technical sections of proposals
Support financial modeling for R&D projects
Contribute to JV structuring discussions
Participate in donor-style proposals (Logframes, ToC, impact KPIs)
Align technical feasibility with client budget expectations
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with: Commercial team - Engineering consultants - Research partners - External technical advisors
Ensure scope clarity before handover to project execution team
Pre-Sales Enablement
Develop technical case studies
Build industry-specific solution decks
Prepare technical FAQ & objection-handling frameworks
Support investor technical due diligence meetings
Present Sanabil’s solution model to high-level stakeholders
Market Intelligence & Innovation Tracking
Track emerging industrial and agri-tech innovations
Identify scalable technical opportunity areas
Contribute to Sanabil’s sectorial reports and technical outlooks
Benchmark local solutions vs. international best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, Chemical, Mechatronics, or relevant field)
Master’s degree is a strong plus
Must have experience in at least TWO of the following:
Industrial engineering or manufacturing optimization
Agri-tech or mechanization projects
Technical consulting
Process engineering
Industrial feasibility studies
Applied R&D project management
Technical proposal development
Experience in working with these is highly preferred:
Industrial factories
Engineering firms
Consulting companies
